Mercer’s Javier Hernandez Named GSAC Division II Men’s Soccer Player of the W

October 6, 2025 – The Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) is proud to announce that Javier Hernandez, a standout midfielder from Mercer County Community College, has been selected as the GSAC Division II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Hernandez played a decisive role in Mercer's 1–0 Region XIX victory over Essex County College, which is currently receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II national rankings. He scored the lone goal of the match, his fourth of the season, to help the #2 nationally ranked Vikings improve to 12–0 on the year.

Beyond the scoreboard, Hernandez's ability to control the tempo in the midfield and maintain possession under pressure was instrumental in Mercer's continued unbeaten run. His leadership and composure were key in securing another signature win for the Vikings.
