Garden State Athletic Conference - Softball


SECTION I - METHOD OF PLAY


A.) Conference play shall be based on double round robin play between all collegeswithin your division.

DIVISION II   Burlington - Mercer - Morris - Raritan Valley - Salem

 DIVISION III                                                                                                                 
Atlantic Cape   - Bergen - Brookdale - Camden   - Cumberland - Gloucester - Middlesex  - Ocean - Sussex                                                                                                 

B.) If more than two (2) games are played between colleges, the first and second games will count as a conference game unless mutually agreed upon between colleges beforehand. Games played during a tournament setting during the season will only count if a regular season game is not scheduled or completed.

C) The official ball of the GSAC is the current approved NJCAA softball.

D) All GSAC teams will automatically forfeit a game if the team arrives 30 minutes or more after the scheduled start time of the game without advanced notice. Advanced Notice  the game will be played 20 minutes after team arrives.

E)Pregame infield should be taken 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. (15 minutes each team). The Home team will decide which eam takes infield 1st unless the visiting team is delayed then the home team will take infield 1st.


SECTION II - CONFERENCE CHAMPION SELECTION


A.) A conference champion in each division will be determined by best won-lost record. If teams are tied, both teams will be declared conference champion.


SECTION III ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM


A.) There will be first and second team All Conference team selections in for Division II and Division III.
B.) Coaches may nominate up to six (6) players. The players must be nominated in the position they have played most in the season.
C.) Players must be voted on in the following positions: Pitcher (2), catcher (2), infielders (5) and outfielders (4), the utility player will automatically be the next player with the highest votes received. Therefore the All Conference team will consist of 14 players.
D.) Nomination forms for the All-GSAC teams will be mailed/faxed from the softball chairperson with return deadlines, followed by the voting ballots with return deadlines. If the college does not vote by the deadlines their nominations will be dropped from the ballots. Athletic Directors must sign the ballots before returning them.


SECTION IV - AWARDS

A.) A championship plaque will be issued to the GSAC champion in each Division.
B.) All-GSAC Team selections and their schools will receive a certificate in each division.


Section V - Coach of the Year
The Coach of the winning GSAC team will be named G.S.A.C. Coach of the Year. The Assistant Coaches of the winning team will be named GSAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
